The Interactive Activity: Exploring Pandemics, PPE, and Preparedness for the Future

This is our interactive activity. You have five choices of different characters who are relevant to understanding the different complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic. Each character gives a different perspective as to how the lack of PPE preparedness has affected different types of people.

This specific character is a general member of the public. As a member of the community, you will be prompted to answer questions regarding different stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in relation to PPE, specifically face masks, and their implications to yourself and the broader public.

In this simulation, you will face ethical, political, and economic decisions as the President of the United States. You will be prompted to answer hypothetical questions that are and continue to be relevant to the coronavirus global pandemic, and take into consideration both long and short term implications.

In this simulation, you will be presented with scenarios that will guide you through the decision-making process of PPE stockpiling and distribution at the national and state levels.

This character is a public health official that provides recommendations to both the World Health Organization (WHO) and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. You will be prompted to answer questions that provide recommendations to the US federal government of how the US should prepare prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and then during the pandemic.

In this simulation you will be presented with scenarios in relation to regulations enacted during the pandemic to prompt production and how that has effected the community. This will be through the lens of an automotive CEO and a community member.
